The L-shaped BBQ island gives you more cooking space on a compact footprint, making it very popular for today’s smaller backyards. This natural stone design blends the relaxed polish of travertine for the counter and coping with the rough beauty of split face stone on the cabinet under the wrap around bar. The textural differences compliment each other beautifully for a relaxed modern feel that blends in so well with the open desert behind it.
There’s more to the story here than the BBQ island bar. Scottsdale clients have some great features for grilling outdoors. The stainless steel Turbo grill and cooktop placed with just enough work space between them, and a grill light too. On the short side of the L they’ve chosen a slide in ice chest for keeping beverages chilled. The working side of the island is finished in stucco painted to match the house. While it could have had stone facing on all sides, the stucco makes for easier cleaning. The bar can comfortably seat 6, and double as serving space for larger gatherings.
The patio/pool deck in this recently completed outdoor living space is travertine pavers laid in the Versailles pattern.
